Why Organic Blank Clothing is a Smart Choice

Cotton is by far the most widely used fabric for clothing in the world and is a $300 billion market. Being that it’s the most popular fabric choice worldwide, it’s shame that cotton producers use liberal amounts of insecticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers to grow and maintain it. In fact, some analysts have estimated that cotton crops use about ¼ of all agricultural insecticides applied globally every year. And to make matters even more concerning, the EPA says that seven of the top 15 pesticides used on U.S. cotton crops are known human carcinogens.

So why not bypass those harmful carcinogens and opt for organically grown cotton clothing blanks? You are not only bettering the environment, but you’re bettering yourself as well. Organic cotton is often more durable than traditional cotton and it’s also known to be softer. Organic cotton farming uses the soil as a foundation to grown the crop, while conventional farming relies on planes and tractors to chemically fertilize the crops. Water covers ¾ of the planet, and unfortunately, the EPA estimates that pesticides—some of which are cancer-causing—contaminate the groundwater in 38 states, which in turn pollutes the drinking water for more than half of the United States’ population.

So make the right choice, choose organic clothing blanks!
